My Favorite Kind of House

Here in our little factory towns in central Indiana, we have a large population of retirees who are downsizing the homes they’ve raised families in to live a more simple life. When that happens, I get excited—not because of the inevitable wheel of time turning on and on—but because I get to photograph a little piece of a families history. Sure, shiplap and minimalism is all well and good, but there is just something about photographing homes that look like the grandkids just left that makes my heart so happy.
